An Authentic Heritage Experience in Yogyakarta

Step into the heart of Javanese tradition with the Siraman Procession, a meaningful pre-wedding ritual deeply rooted in Javanese culture. Held at the serene and beautifully crafted Lily Pond, this venue offers an authentic heritage atmosphere, perfect for honoring such a sacred tradition.
The Siraman is not merely a ceremonial bath, it is a symbol of purification, of blessings, and a graceful farewell to single life, as the bride or groom prepares to enter marriage.
Details of the Javanese Siraman Ritual :
- Tirta Preparation (Sacred Water)
Water is collected from seven sacred sources and blended with a variety of fragrant flower petals (jasmine, rose, kenanga).
The water symbolizes purity, blessing, and the unity of different elements in life.
- Venue Blessing & Prayer (Slametan)
A communal prayer is led by family elders or a spiritual guide to seek safety and divine blessings for the upcoming marriage.

Each elder gives words of blessing and advice for the future.
- Potong Rambut (Hair Trimming)
A small lock of hair is cut by the parents to symbolize releasing past mistakes and embracing a new phase of life.
- Ngerik (Body Cleansing & Scrub)
A beautician or female elder gently scrubs the bride/groom’s neck and back area to represent removal of bad energy and beautification of the soul.
- Baluri Bedak (Applying Traditional Powder)
A layer of traditional body powder or lulur is applied for fragrance and blessing.
- Change of Attire
The bride/groom is dressed in a clean kebaya or beskap, symbolizing a rebirth after purification.
- Panggih Offering & Tumpeng Sharing (optional)
